Chinese meals traditionally include lots of vegetables and lean protein, just watch out for added sodium and fat from heavy sauces or frying. For a healthier Chinese option, consider:

  • Wonton or hot-and-sour soup
  • Steamed dumplings or steamed vegetables instead of fried
  • Boiled, broiled, steamed, lightly stir-fried entrees with water chestnuts for some added crunch
  • Order meals made with less sauce, or ask for the sauce on the side
  • Brown rice instead of white
