Tips for Eating Vegetarian Food provided by the American Heart Association
Health food and vegetarian food are usually fresh and wholesome. Protein usually comes from chicken or fish, or it may be combined vegetable protein (such as rice and beans). But watch out for fats and oils. Sometimes vegetarian recipes can compensate for meatless entrees by adding fat to fill you up.
Tips: There are lots of great vegetarian sandwiches. Just avoid those with lots of cheese and avocado.
